Cook, Charles Robert “Bob”

Entered into rest at the QHC Belleville General Hospital on Thursday, January 18th, 2024, in his 90th year, with Doreen by his side. Son of the late Jim and Eva Cook, beloved husband of Doreen Cook (nee LaPanne) for 65 years. Dear father of Angela (Steve) Fuller, Brian (Annette), Donald (Bonnie), Kevin (Linda), Rick (Tanya), Kathy (Donald) VanLuven, and Todd (Heather). Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Darren, Tiffiny, Andrew, Dylan, Zac, Stephanie, Colin, Kaci, Celeta, Gabe, Nicole, Kaitlin, Nick, and pre-deceased by grandson, David Cook. Lovingly remembered by 10 great-grandchildren. Survived by his sister Donna Ball of Calgary, and pre-deceased by several brothers and sisters. Bob was on the committee which started organizing the waterfront festival and later was known as Captain Myers. He also started the Ladies’ Ball and Hockey in the 60s. He was the past president of Belleville Minor Hockey, and coached for over 30 years with kids of all ages, both boys and girls hockey and softball. He was recognized for his contributions to the city of Belleville sporting community by being inducted into the City of Belleville Sports hall of fame. Bob was a lifetime active member at St Columba Presbyterian Church. Funeral arrangements in the care of Steele Funeral Home, 30 Moira St West (613-968-2273) Belleville. Visitation will be held at Steele Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 24th 2024 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. A memorial service will be held at St Columba Presbyterian Church (corner of Farley and Bridge St) on Thursday, January 25th, 2024 at 11:00am. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Columba Presbyterian Church or Belleville Minor Hockey Association would be appreciated.
