Obituary for Heather Huber

HUBER, Heather – It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Heather Huber, beloved spouse of Carol Deacon for 38 years, after a long and difficult battle with cancer. She fought her cancer as she lived life: with dignity, courage, kindness, and humour.

She is preceded by her adored mother Norma (nee, Anderson) Huber and father Otto Huber, and her two brothers. She is lovingly remembered by her youngest sister Heidi Huber and brother-in-law Daren Nietupski. She leaves behind two older sisters: Hope McFall and Holly Huber. She will be much missed by her nieces and nephews, especially Olivia Myers (Adam), and her many friends.

Heather’s wish to die at home was only possible because of Heidi, Daren, and Judy McKay (friend), as well as Community Care, doctor Jennifer Gartshore, and the nursing staff at Bayshore, especially Joshua and Michelle. A most heartfelt thank you to all.

Heather was one-of-a-kind. Proudly born and raised in Toronto, she happily adopted beautiful Belleville as her home and final resting place.

A “gathering (10:30 a.m.) and remembrance (11:00 a.m.)” will  be held on Wednesday, July 12th, 2023 at 16 Sunset Drive, Belleville, immediately followed by the committal of her ashes at Belleville Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Steele Funeral Home, Belleville (613-968-2273).
