Obituary for Wilma Adams (Lebow)

Wilma Alma Adams, (nee Lebow) -    peacefully at Quinte Hospice on Friday, June 30, 2023, in her 88th year.  Daughter of the late Frederick and Violet (nee Hinze) Lebow.  Beloved wife of the Late Arthur Adams (for 67 years).  Loving mother of Gary (Sharon) Adams of Belleville and Julia (Michael) Lukiew of Stirling.  Proud grandmother of Ryan Adams, Jami (Alex) Vanags, Lauren Saulnier and Courtney Saulnier (Cody) all of Belleville and great grandmother of Lillian, Rowan, Thomas, Parker and Presley.  Wilma is predeceased by one sister Muriel Freymond and by three brothers, Gordon, Charles and Edgar Lebow. Wilma was born and spent her childhood in the Bancroft area until she met her husband Arthur, and then they lived most of their married life in Prince Edward County. She began teaching at a young age and taught at many schools in the county, but her best teaching years were at Massassauga and Rednersville schools. They spent their later years living at the Regency apartments in Belleville, and then finally at Bayview Chartwell Retirement Home. She loved music and loved to listen to her favorite songs being sung to her once she could no longer play them herself. She was a ‘witty’ lady, and you never needed to wonder what she was thinking, because she would tell you!  She was loved by many. Arrangements are entrusted to the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West.  A graveside service and interment will take place at Emmanuel Cemetery, Maynooth, on Thursday July 6, 2023, at 12:00 noon.  If desired, Memorial Donations to Hospice Quinte would be appreciated by the family.
